  2. WHAT IS THE DATA NOTEBOOK?  California Mental Health Planning Council  A majority Consumer & Family member advisory board  Mandated by federal and State statute  Advises the Legislature on priority issues 2

  3. DATA NOTEBOOK  The Data Notebook is used to:  Assist local boards to meet legal mandates to review performance data every year  Serve as an educational resource on behavioral health data  Obtain opinion of local boards on specific topics  Identify unmet needs and make recommendations 3

DATA NOTEBOOK  Input needed from BHAB to complete questions  Information will be analyzed by California Mental Health Planning Council to create a report to inform policymakers, stakeholders and the public  2017 Topic: BHS system of care for older adults  2016: Children/Transition Age Youth  2015: Justice-Involved Population 4

OLDER ADULT SYSTEM OF CARE  Approximately 5,592 clients in FY 15-16  FSP/ACT - Community Research Foundation - Senior Impact  Strength-Based Case Management – Telecare – Age Wise  Outpatient Mental Health Centers – All clinics provide Older Adult mental health services  10 Outpatient Mental Health Clinics have embedded Geriatric Specialists who provide outreach and site-based geriatric services 5

  6. OLDER ADULT SYSTEM OF CARE Prevention and Early Intervention Older Adult Programs  EMASS – Elder Multicultural Access and Support Services  Alzheimer's Program – Programs for Caregivers of clients with Alzheimer’s 6

  7. CRISIS RESPONSE  PERT - FY 15/16 - 1007 clients  Acute Care – 568 clients (includes Crisis Stabilization, Inpatient Count and FFS)  Homeless – 428 clients  Long Term Care – 105 clients (includes Edgemoor and LTC Institutions) 7
