Intangibility

By being an old and densely occupied territory, the region of Ave, has a large and complex heritage.

  • ral traditions, performing arts, social practices, rituals, festive events,

knowledge and practices concerning nature and the universe or the knowledge and skills to produce traditional crafts.

The fact that this territory is fulcral to the Portuguese national discourse makes it a laboratory of identity issues and, as so, a place where several paths, concerning intangible heritage, meet.
