Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral fiber. It was used in numerous building materials and vehicle products for its strength and ability to resist heat and corrosion before its health effects were discovered.

  • Some sprayed on insulation for pipes and ceilings
  • Insulation around pipes and boilers
  • Various types of ceiling tiles
  • Most 9” vinyl floor tiles‐ some 12” floor tiles
  • Laboratory bench tops
  • Roofing materials and wall boards
