Belongings/Toys

Communication: Dismissal Changes/Absences

  • If you are changing your child’s after-school

arrangements, please send in a note or call the

Homework

  • In 2nd grade, the primary homework for students will be

Word Study.

  • Students will learn sorts from assigned teacher each Friday.

Teacher will send students home with sort and test on them the following Friday.

  • Practice words with your child using suggested exercises at least 3

times a week and log your practice in the Homework Log.

  • Keep Homework Logs in yellow Take Home Folders and I will

check/initial the logs weekly.

  • Read 20 minutes every night. Completion of reading will be

checked through “Status of the Class.”

  • Reflex Math – must

ust sign Discovery’s Parent Consent Form

  • An online tool for children to use in order to become fluent in basic

addition and subtraction facts.

  • Use of Reflex (20 minutes, 2 times a week) will also count as a

grade on report cards under “Addition and Subtraction Facts.”

Outdoor Garden End Goals

To create a sustainable outdoor classroom with native plants and cross-curricular learning opportunities for all students. To continue to foster a school-to-community relationship through shared investment as consumers and producers. Produce is eaten by students and staff with our garden to table

  • program. Seeds are harvested and used to produce future crops,

share with other schools, or raise funds for our garden.
