Arts Grant Categories

There are four categories of Arts Grants:

  • 1. Community Arts Grants
  • 2. Youth Arts Internship Grants
  • 3. Arts and Cultural Tourism Grants
  • 4. Sharing Cultures Grants

  • 1. Community Arts Grant
  • Present a project of any art form to the community
  • There must be a public outcome for the arts activity

in Kingston, and it must be open to all residents to attend or view

  • Maximum grant request is $3,000
  • Example: Yarn Graffiti Documentary Teaser

  • 2. Youth Arts Internship
  • To fund a young artist between 18 to 27 years old to

work with a professional artist in a residency or mentorship from 6 to 12 months

  • There must be a public outcome as a result of the

internship

  • Maximum grant request is $3,000
  • Example: Making “The Not Quite White Apartment

  • 3. Arts and Cultural

Tourism Grants

  • To exhibit, stage or produce work in the municipality to

attract audiences beyond the municipal borders and raise the profile of arts offerings in Kingston

  • This grant is open to artists, creative teams and not-

for-profit arts organisations outside of Kingston

  • Maximum grant request is $5,000
  • Example: Flashmob ABC3 at Fed Square

  • 4. Sharing Cultures

Grants

  • To fund a project that specifically aims to

expose, display or encourage engagement between multicultural/indigenous arts groups and the greater community

  • Maximum grant request is $5,000
