Open photoshop and drag and drop your Section file.
Opening Photoshop
Leave this as it has it for now, we will next make sure its the right size.

Image > Canvas Size
Canvas Size
Go to the image tab and edit the canvas size to be a landscape A3 size. Double click and rename your layer.

Drag and drop your brick texture image
Place Brick texture
Resize it to be a roughly appropriate size for the wall its going

Hold ALT and drag.
Duplicate the image
Hold ALT and drag the image until its adjacent to the original. It should snap, repeat this until it goes beyond the width of the wall.

Select layers, right click and merge them
Merge Layers
You can see that each brick image has its own layer, but we want them as 1. So, with them all selected, right click and click Merge Layers to combine them.

Hold ALT and drag.
Duplicate Vertically
Repeat the duplication process, holding ALT and dragging the merged brick images up so that they go beyond the wall. Then Merge the layers.

Magic wand tool and Delete.
Trim off excess Wall
With the magic wand tool activated (you may have to right click
layer selected, click in the area where the wall is. Now press CTRL + SHIFT + I to select the inverse of the wall, and DELETE the excess.

Image > Adjustment > Levels
Make the Texture more faint
With the brick texture layer selected, go to Image > Adjustment > Levels and on the window, move the arrow at the black end on the left towards the right until you are happy with it.

Adjust size
Place the Person file
Drag and drop your ‘person’ image. Right click on the person image layer and Rasterise it.

Select > Colour Range
Delete Background Colour
With the person layer selected, go to the select tab, go to colour range, and with the window open, click on the background white

Polygonal Lasso Tool
Improve your selection
The white background is selected but so is some of the persons
select the area on his shirt that you don’t want selected. Right click on the person layer and Rasterise it. Then press DELETE to delete the white background.

Select and DELETE. Then Save.
Delete the overlap
Select the bit of shoe that is overlapping the section line and DELETE it. Your Photoshop edit is now complete. Tidy up your layers if they aren’t already so that there are 3 and they are named.

Turn off the Section layer and SAVE.
Finishing Up
Click on the eye on the Left of the Section layer. Go to File and Save it.

Use the right side to select width, height and orientation of your page - A3 Landscape (420mm x 297mm)

File > Place > Original Section.pdf file.
Place Section File
Place the original Section file we had. This file is a Vector. Vectors are more editable and do not pixelate. Where Photoshop works in pixels, Illustrator works in vectors.

With the Section file selected, go to Object, and Ungroup.
Ungroup the new file.
You may have to do this multiple times.

Select > Same Stroke Weight
Move the Section Cut lines to a new layer
With a line from the Section cut selected (You may need to repeatedly click on it to get it selected), go to Object, Select, Same Stroke Weight.

Create a new layer called Section Cut Edit > Paste in Place

Turn the section cut lines into a solid shape.
Shape builder
With the section cut lines selected, use the Shape Builder tool on the right and click in the 2 areas between the section cut lines. This will build them into a solid object. Press escape when done. With one of these built shapes selected, double click on the fill colour on the right and change it to a colour. You may need to right click here and change it to RGB

Eye dropper tool.
Fill The other Section Cut
With your second (unfilled) section cut shape selected, choose the Eye dropper tool. Then click on your filled section cut shape. This will give it the same attributes as the first.

Draw a ventillation line using the Pen tool. If you click, hold and drag at each point this will give it a curve.

With your second (unfilled) section cut shape selected, choose the Eye dropper tool. Then click on your filled section cut shape. This will give it the same attributes as the first. Repeat until you have a curvy line. If you right click on the pen tool you can switch to the anchor tool and edit each control point on the line.

Turn off the Fill and give it a blue colour. Turn off the Fill and give it a blue colour. Then edit the stroke weight. Tick Dashed Line and change the dash and gap scaling, and give it an arrow head from the drop down menu.

Select the number of columns, rows, gutter and whether to include margins or not.

While on your master page, create a text box by selecting the text command on the left and dragging your mouse to create a box on the page

Double click on the text box you created to make it active then go to Type, Insert Special Character, Markers, Current Page Number.

Create a new character style by pressing the page icon on the bottom of the tab and them right click and select edit

Create new text boxes and apply character styles by selecting the box and then while selected clicking on the character style you wish to apply.

Select all pages you wish to apply the master page to and right click / apply master page. This will apply all master pages to them. Then to edit the text boxes on each page you must overwrite all master page items by right clicking on the page again and selecting

To place an image click on the file tab and select place. This will
be inserted and click ok. The image will appear around your cursor and you can now click to indicate the location of placement. The image can be resized by dragging the control points in or out when the image is selecting while pressing control and shift (for uniform resizing only).

Once the location has been selected. All you have to do is select the pages to export and then set whether it is a single page or as a spread, the dpi of the images (useful to play around with to lower portfolio sizes). Once all options are acceptable click export and indesign will generate a pdf document of your portfolio.
