Values in the comparison are from this room UG rear Which is the relevant room according DIN4109

Building owners, consultants and contractors who want to know if the considered Soundproof System fulfill the requirements of the DIN4109 should ask the piping system supplier for the official Test Report and compare to others. Only systems which has been carried out under the same conditions ( same laboratory) can be compared.

In the following chard we will show you the values measured in the German FRAUNHOFER INSTITUT FÜR BAUPHYSIK conforming the test report P-BA 265/2007e for our SOUNDPROOF PLUS system respectively conforming test report P-BA 288/2007e for our SOUNDPROOF system.

Reaction to fire Performance EUROCLASS / Norm UNE EN 13501-1:2002

A1, A2, B, C, D, F = Classification regarding the FIRE PROPOGATION S1, S2, S3 = Classification regarding the SMOKE PRODUCTION D0, D1, D2 = Classification regarding the DROPS / PARTICLES

Near all member countries of the European Union (EU) have adopted the harmonized Euroclass system of reaction to fire performance of building products The fire performance of the PVC-U from TERRAIN SDP regarding the above mentioned norm is as following: B / S1 / D0

As it can be seen, the DIN4102 don’t differentiate much the

  • materials. However, SDP has

the best result that can be achieve for burning materials!

The new European Euro classes “Fire Protection Classification” EUROCLASS Time to “flash over” acc. the “Room Corner Test” A1 No “flash over”; Calorific Value < 2 MJ/Kg A2 No “flash over”; Calorific Value < 3 MJ/Kg B No “flash over” TERRAIN SDP C 10 to 20 minutes D 2 to 10 minutes E 0 to 2 minutes F Not defined

Remarks: PVC isn’t a polyolefin and therefore it hasn’t “flash over” effect which is very important to protect against fire. PE, PP, etc. are polyolefin's and therefore they burn much more.

Conclusion

The following points are important when considering a Soundproof System: The system must be installed as a “system” and according the manufacturers guidelines. The system shall be tested in the German Fraunhofer Institute. Only in this way the Owner or Consultant can be sure about its performance. The consultant or contractor shall compare the performance of the systems requiring the official test report from the Fraunhofer Institute. If required, additional insulation actions has to be done to achieve the required noise levels. Choose a system with best fire classification
