Approved Sound Proofed Systems Building owners, consultants and contractors who want to know if the considered Soundproof System fulfill the requirements of the DIN4109 should ask the piping system supplier for the official Test Report and

All systems has been carried out under the same conditions in the German FRAUNHOFER INSTITUT FÜR BAUPHYSIK Values in dBA measured in room “UG-rear” with two clamps (all this information is taken from the manufacturers Website at that moment)

As it can be seen, the DIN4102 don’t differentiate much the
the best result that can be achieve for burning materials!
Remarks: PVC isn’t a polyolefin and therefore it hasn’t “flash over” effect which is very important to protect against fire. PE, PP, etc. are polyolefin's and therefore they burn much more.
The following points are important when considering a Soundproof System: The system must be installed as a “system” and according the manufacturers guidelines. The system shall be tested in the German Fraunhofer Institute. Only in this way the Owner or Consultant can be sure about its performance. The consultant or contractor shall compare the performance of the systems requiring the official test report from the Fraunhofer Institute. If required, additional insulation actions has to be done to achieve the required noise levels. Choose a system with best fire classification
