Apprenticeship Levy

  • 0.5% of our gross pay bill is taken

monthly by HMRC and deposited in

  • ur DAS (Digital Apprenticeship

Service) account – approximately £150k pa

  • The levy can only be used on

employees starting a NEW apprenticeship

  • 2 years to use the funds or

Government retains it

  • There is a £15k grant from the

Government which goes back into your DAS (linked entities rule)

Apprenticeship Levy

  • DAS account used to pay for the

apprenticeship

  • There are 30 different funding bands for

apprenticeships – £1,500 to £27,000

  • If there is not enough money in your

DAS account to cover the cost of the apprenticeship, 10:90 split Company Vs Gov’t Old System

  • Training body used to draw down

funding – no involvement from the Company to secure funding

  • Government determined monies

associated with the NVQ

  • Some technical qualifications within the

NVQ were paid through the Gov’t.

  • Additional qualifications outside of the

NVQ paid for by the Company

  • Agency who had been covering would now remain

as both covering for higher holiday period

  • Completing PMO NVQ
  • Block release at college to undertake L3

Engineering

  • Agency which had been used to cover Y1 now

cover Y2/3 July – September

  • On site within Operations
  • Completing PMO NVQ
  • Selection for years 2/3
  • On site within Operations
  • Agency who had been covering would now

remain to cover higher holiday period

  • Working through and completing Auto Eng NVQ
