Leonardo – Who can apply?

All those in vocational education and training, other than at tertiary level, as well as the institutions and organisations facilitating such education and training, such as :

  • Institutions or organisations providing learning opportunities in the fields

covered by the Leonardo da Vinci sectoral programme;

  • Associations and representatives of those involved in vocational

education and training, including trainees’, parents’ and teachers’ associations;

  • Enterprises, social partners and other representatives of working life,

including chambers of commerce and other trade organisations;

  • Bodies providing guidance, counselling and information services

relating to any aspect of lifelong learning;

  • Bodies responsible for systems and policies concerning any aspect of

lifelong learning vocational education and training at local, regional and national level;

  • Research centres and bodies concerned with lifelong learning issues;
  • Organisations at tertiary level can participate in the projects, but

the results should not target those attending vocational education and training at tertiary level

  • Partnership project should produce descriptive or tangible
  • utcomes and results which allow for later dissemination and

further application of the results

  • Activities and mobilities are not outcomes, they are part of the

process of a Partnership project

Partnership formal conditions Key information

  • The next deadline to apply for Partnership funding is 21st February 2011.
  • Organisations which received LdV Partnership funding in 2010 are not

eligible for LdV Partnership funding in 2011

  • You cannot have more than 2 Irish organisations in the same partnership

project

  • Irish Organisatons can be a co-ordinating partner or a partner in a project led by

another country

  • Need at least 3 partners from 3 different countries participating in the LLP (at

Least one must be from one of the 27 Member States of the EU) but advisable to have more than 3

  • The participating countries are: 27 Member States of the EU + Turkey, Norway,

Liechtenstein, Iceland, Switzerland* and Croatia*

  • Duration – 2 years
  • Grant is a flat-rate amount
  • Each partner receives funding from their own National Agency

* Provided that the formal steps for participation are completed in due time

Eligibility Requirements – See p.23 of Application form

  • A soft-copy of the application form should be provided on CD-ROM together with the hard-

copies of the application.

  • The application form fulfils all all the eligibility criteria for this activity as set out in the Call for

Proposals (fiche. No. 31)

  • The application fulfils the application procedures and has been submitted respecting the

closing dates set out in the Call for Proposals.

  • The form is not hand written (except for Section L - Signature).
  • The form has been completed jointly by the whole Partnership and all partners have

received a copy.

  • The form has been completed in full.
  • The Work programme contains planned mobility activities of each institution in the

Partnership and the Requested EU funding table contains grant requests in euro for each partner.

  • The form has been completed using the communication language of the Partnership (this

must be one of the official languages of the EU).

  • The partnership consists of institutions located in at least three of the countries participating

in the Lifelong Learning programme. The eligible countries are the 27 Member States of the European Union, Norway, Liechtenstein, Iceland and Turkey (+ Switzerland + Croatia)

  • At least one participating institution is located in a Member State of the European Union at

the starting date of the Partnership.

  • Each participating institution has checked with the National Agency in its country that it is

eligible to participate in a Leonardo da Vinci Partnership.

  • f Application form
  • The copy submitted to each National Agency has been signed by the person authorised to

enter into legally binding commitments on behalf of the applicant institution concerned (or a person duly authorised by the legal representative).

  • Each participating institution has fulfilled its contractual obligations in relation to any earlier

grants received from the National Agencies concerned.

  • Each participating institution has checked with its National Agency whether there are any

national eligibility criteria and whether the National Agency requires any additional information to be submitted in support of the application. Additional Irish NA Requirements

  • If the working language of the partnership is to be a language other than English and the

application is submitted in that language to the National Agency of Ireland then an English translation of the application must be submitted together with the original application.

  • A maximum of 2 Irish organisations are eligible in the same Leonardo da Vinci Partnership.

If more than 2 Irish organisations are involved in the same partnership, all Irish

  • rganisations in that partnership will be considered ineligible.
  • Applications from organisations involved in Leonardo da Vinci Partnerships whose

Partnership Application was funded in the previous Call for Proposals (2010) will be considered ineligible.

Application Process

Step 1 – The Coordinator completes the PDF Application form (in conjunction with the other partners), saves it, submits it

  • nline and the submission confirmation containing

the submission ID will appear in the form. You should aim to submit the final version approx 1 week before the deadline to allow your partners time to respect the paper submission deadline (!Important! – once you have submitted the form online you cannot modify the application form!) Step 2 – The Coordinator emails the application form + the submission confirmation to all the project partners

Step 3 – All the partners, including the coordinator must print the application form and complete by hand Section L SIGNATURE (and stamp if available) (ensure that it is signed by the legal signatory of each partner organisation – original signatures are required) Step 4 – All partners, including the coordinator must send by post by the deadline, the completed and signed grant Application Form and the Submission confirmation to the postal address of the respective National Agency of each partner organisation (i.e. Irish coordinator/partner send to Irish NA, Spanish partner sends to Spanish NA etc).
