Mission Statement: Strength based on independence

APA, as the Austrian news agency, is an integrated information business company, providing news, information and IT services to both media and political institutions, as well as to corporations. APA fulfils its tasks according to the principles of reliability, speed, and balanced information, as well as studiously avoiding one-sidedness and partiality, and works independently from the state, the government, and the political parties. As Austria’s leading information service group, APA is one of only ~ 20 news agencies worldwide, which function independently from the state and the government.

Semantics – Why we care?

Our Goals Enhance the quality of results through semantics Disambiguation through context => U2 (Tube) ≠ U2 (Band) Making our contents compatible and linkable by accumulating metadata The end of data silos Creating a basis for the marketability through new setting of openness. A new dimension in economics
