  1. Allen Harim & ANSRWRF O p e r a t i o n s P e r m i t s

  2. Continuous Monitoring of Indicators Direct Direct Monitoring 1 Monitoring of Measurement Program 4 2 Groundwater of Regulated in Fields and Constituents 3 Woods Four Prong, Redundant at Source Approach to Maintain Second Direct Quality Measurement of Regulated Constituents at Lagoon

  3. Key Constituents 10 10 20 10 ppm ppm col/.1 L ppm TSS Nitrogen BOD Fecal Coliforms Concentration In Concentration In Concentration Concentration in Discharge = Discharge = Reaching Discharge = Allowed on Sports Allowed on Golf Allowed in Groundwater = Fields Courses & Parks Allowed in Drinking Streams Water

  4. Prong 1 Continuous Monitoring of Indicators Some regulated constituents cannot be measured in real time, so Allen Harim & Artesian elected to devise a system which uses indicators as continuous checks for INTENT METHOD abnormalities and reports back Monitor indicator constituents Metering & Monitoring building to both company’s SCADA that can be measured at Allen Harim on their effluent systems continuously as an early warning line directly after the treatment system plant discharge

  5. Prong 2 Direct Measurement of Regulated Constituents at Source Composite samplers, grab samples and other direct measurements of regulated constituents will be sent to an independent, EPA certified 3 rd party lab for analysis with INTENT METHOD results sent directly to Allen Direct measurement of Regular composite and grab Harim and Artesian from the regulated parameters leaving samples taken at Allen Harim. lab. the Allen Harim Site Artesian is authorized to take additional samples at any time

  6. Connection to Artesian System Metering & Monitoring Building Treatment Plant Discharge

  7. Water Quality Aerators Inlet Location Prong 3 Verification of Effluent Quality After ANSRWRF Lagoon Additional sampling beyond what is called for in the regulations will be conducted to Sampling verify that there has been no Location change in water quality since leaving Allen Harim prior to INTENT METHOD spray effluent being pumped Second direct measurement of Routine samples taken by from the ANSRWRF lagoon to regulated constituents to verify Artesian Wastewater Operators the fields. and tested by an EPA certified 3 rd no change in water quality prior to spray party lab

  8. Prong 4 Verify Plant Uptake by Crops and Trees Ultimately successful operation of ANSRWRF should be judged by the quality of the groundwater under its influence. Regular sampling across the spray application INTENT METHOD areas , analyzed by a third Check that uptake by crops and Array of groundwater party lab, will be used to check trees is proceeding in monitoring wells, lysometers this. accordance with agronomic and pzometers in the fields and expectations woods

  9. Corrective Tools: Allen Harim Problems detected at any of the monitoring locations triggers corrective action which may consist of any or all of the following: SPRAY VOL REDUCTION DIVERSION Use excess land to reduce 10 million gallon lagoon at spray volume per acre Allen Harim TREATMENT CHANGES ADDITIONAL FIELDS Adjust process at Allen Additional fields have been Foods permitted CESSATION OF SPRAY TEMPORARY TREATMENT Excess capacity at ANSRWRF Mobile treatment units allows for holding effluent installed at ANSRWRF

  10. Lined Diversion Lagoon Emergency Discharge to Diversion Lagoon from Metering & Monitoring Metering & Monitoring Building Building Treatment Plant Discharge

  11. Corrective Tools: ANSRWRF Problems detected at any of the monitoring locations triggers corrective action which may consist of any or all of the following SPRAY VOL REDUCTION DIVERSION Use excess land to reduce Multi‐million gallon lagoon spray volume per acre at Allen Harim TREATMENT CHANGES ADDITIONAL FIELDS Adjust process at Allen Additional fields have been Foods permitted CESSATION OF SPRAY TEMPORARY TREATMENT Excess capacity at ANSRWRF Mobile treatment units allows for holding effluent installed at ANSRWRF for chlorination, filtration etc.

  12. ANSRWRF Daily Operations • System managed by a programmable control system • Multiple alarms check for issues continuously • Calculations based on rainfall, crop age, type of crop etc. for each month will be used to adjust spray rates based on real world conditions

  13. ANSRWRF Daily Operations • Effluent will be sprayed under supervision of a licensed wastewater operator • Records of all results, flows, and other data will be maintained and submitted to DNREC as required by permit • Spray equipment will be inspected as part of daily operations • Aerators will maintain wave action to reduce algae formation and discourage mosquitos
