  3. \ What Has Been Done  August 2, 2018: Lee County is awarded $700,000 grant funding by the FDEP to combat and \ \ remove algae. \  Three test sites for this proj ect were identified within Cape Coral: \  Near the Clipper Bay condominiums \ \  North of the Cape Coral Bridge \  East of Del Prado Blvd \  As of August 20, 2018 all FDEP grant funds have been exhausted in an effort to clean up Lee County waterways.

  6. \ \ \ \ \ \ \ Small Business Administration \ \ \ \  August 20, 2018: Governor S cott requested the U.S . S mall \ \ Business Administration to issue an Economic Inj ury Disaster Declaration for Lee and Martin Counties  The declaration will provide small businesses with low-interest loans

  9. \ Treatment \ \ \ \  Ecological Laboratories Inc, a Cape Coral based Biotechnology \ Fermentation Company \ \  Non-chemical, biological treatment and restoration \ \  Water both inside and outside the treatment zone be tested for: intestinal \ pathogens, ammonia, nitrate, phosphate, and the ecosystems biological activity \ (count), with review of spore and vegetative microorganisms and photoautrophs \  FDEP approval received August 23 for a temporary algae treatment pilot program in Cape Coral.
