Georgia Gives Day

Why use #GivingTuesday for new donor acquisition?

#GivingTuesday is an international social movement that people don’t want to miss out

  • n. They’re looking for
  • rganizations to support,

this is our day to present

  • urselves as an
  • rganization they should

support.

slide-9
SLIDE 9

Friend-raiser and Fundraiser

Donors today = Dollars tomorrow

slide-10
SLIDE 10

Why prioritize social media?

  • We must reach outside our database to

contact new donors

  • We want to benefit from the trends and traffic
  • f #GivingTuesday
  • It has exponential power (a retweet or FB share

is more likely than an forwarded email)

  • A direct ask from a family member or friend

may be more convincing than an email from 21CL

slide-11
SLIDE 11

Why prioritize social media?

Click through vs Impressions

  • Click through rates for “GA gives days

Push1- DonorVolunteersBoard”

  • 559 Recipients, 108 opens and 2 clicks.
  • Parents and students 1,104 opens, 236
  • pens 8 clicks
  • Alumni 3,311, 239 opened, 7 clicks
  • A total of 86 Donors, a large number of

these donors were committed supporters not first timers

  • 21 days of leadership National Youth

Leadership Month

  • 5,000 engaged through FB
  • 18,500 impression on twitter.
  • Now lets apply the open and click

through rates to these numbers 861.5 “opens” on FB 3186.55 on Twitter.

  • 23 “click through” on FB and 85.1 on

twitter We reach more people on social media, even with the assumption that not all who see our post will respond

What is needed and how you can help?

  • Every member of the board should commit to

hosting a “special experience” for a student or students in 2017-18.

  • Examples include: unique behind-the-scenes

tours; a special lunch where students can meet professionals in careers where they have a potential interest; job shadowing for a ½ or full day; attending a training or seminar that your people are engaged in; learning a skill from the pros; making a presentation to a group of your employees.

  • We NEED content as we begin building out the

second program year. Can your company help with content and designers?

Leadership Connect

  • Student Testimonial

“I really enjoy Leadership Connect because of its simplicity. The exercises and practice lessons have already helped me tremendously, although just started. I realized that I am learning a lot about the skills I already have and how to shape them. The program is helping me understand that everyone can make a difference in the world, workplace, etc.- all you need is a bit of training!! I am really looking forward to completing more lessons and seeing myself grow as a leader through Leadership Connect!” – Camisha Smith, Henry W. Grady High School
