BOARD OF SUPERVISOR REQUEST

  • December 2019 - Board of Supervisor Susan Ellenberg’s request for

Behavioral Health Services for youth at all schools in Santa Clara County

  • Long-term sustainability and funding for school-based

behavioral health

  • The 2018 Mental Health Services Act needs assessment

identified the need to engage additional partners and school districts in providing access to youth mental health services.

  • The planning process includes three phases in which key

discussions with Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE) and BHSD will fully explore a plan for mental health resources at all school districts.

WHERE ARE WE AT?

  • BHSD has contracted with Resource Development Associates

(RDA) for data and evaluation of this project

  • School Linked Services
  • Service Coordination by SLS Coordinators at 15 school

districts

  • School-Based Behavioral Health through PEI and SLS are

at 13 school districts and 3 charter schools (Foundation of Hispanic Education)

  • MHSSA RFA grant proposal was submitted on June 12, 2020

and ratified by BOS on June 23, 2020
