Context

 This is an ad hoc committee:

 Committee formed on an as-needed basis to address specific, time-limited tasks

 In December 2010, Council identified a growth area for the program

 How investigators involved advocates in their projects (IDEAs and Translational Awards)

 Advocates were not being compensated for their time  Same advocates were named in applications repeatedly

 Advocacy Involvement Committee formed in Spring 2011

Charge of the Committee

 To improve advocate participation in CBCRP research  This committee will oversee development of resources to assist advocates and investigators and revision of grant application and implementation procedures
