The Center’s programs help differentiate UE and are good recruiting tools

  • High School Changemaker Challenge has

helped bring in 60 Deposits (so far)

  • Eric Renschler, Chair, Theatre:
  • “Talking about Changelab has been a

game changer for us this week. It is sometimes hard to distinguish UE from

  • ther schools at this event, but when we

describe the possibilities of Changelab, the students light up. They aren’t hearing this sort of thing from any of the

  • ther schools.”

Dave Dwyer, Chair, Math:

  • “I was equally floored by the glimpse I obtained of

the ChangeLab machine in action. It is impressive, way beyond my expectations. I met with several students as part of Scholar Day, and I found myself incorporating our STAT 300 class (and ChangeLab in general) into my pitch. We either require or encourage all of our majors to take this class, and it differentiates us from every other program. To be able to tell a prospective actuary that in addition to learning material that will prepare them for up to five actuarial exams and will prepare them for actuarial internships, we also provide them with an

  • pportunity to put their knowledge and skills to use

as part of a class—to solve real-world problems for actual clients. Each time, the student lit up at this framing.”
