Established in 1986 at the initiative of UNOCHA at Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), in Thailand. Served as Outreach Center of AIT, 1986-1999. Became an independent foundation in July 1999. Attained Inter-governmental status in February 2005. 68 Staff, 18 Nationalities.
