Some of the guiding principles which underpin our work; Creating quality content; The creation, management, and distribution of quality content is likely to be the single most import job of work that ecotourism businesses will be required to master to reach and maintain, a differential competitive advantage. Building an audience; The value of quality content can only be quantified when we are able to define its reach – In order to attach a value to contentwe need to create an audience which will consume the content AND respond to a call to action . Building an audience requires the combined efforts both Wilderness Explorer an our product partners. An audience is built in a number of ways; Wilderness Explorer builds its own audience through a number of channels which include; social media activities, professional associations, contributions to industry columns and blogs. Wilderness Explorer adds to the audience described above by creating, managing and distributing the content of its partners through channels, which may be similar to those listed above. Managing the ‘front desk’; Creating and distributing content is done for one express purpose, and this is to generate a response to a call to action . Not unlike any other industry, we wish for our call to action to be met with a purchase, and specifically in our case, a booking. Each call to action may have its own front desk, so to speak, and could include the following; Reservations, typically through an online reservations platform, Marketing, typically requests for more information, Sales, essentially all activities required to conclude the sale. our foundation

Some of the tools used in achieving the guiding principles; Creating quality images; Obtaining high quality photographic images remains our most important focus, and it is upon these that we are able to leverage all other marketing interventions – a picture does tell a thousand words. Creating quality video; The value of quality video content cannot be underestimated and, achieves two results; YOU TUBE, in its own right is a frequently used search engine. SEARCH ENGINES rely on YOU TUBE as a credible source of information , and therefore they return results from YOU TUBE when responding to searches. Creating quality copy; Quality images have a specific and very important purpose but, their use is limited to specific interventions, which include face to face presentations and specific online applications, including; pinterest , Instagram, twitter, and snap chat. In order to provide images with the ‘fuel’ to perform, they require quality content before they are fully effective online. Building platforms; Many platforms are available to us to distribute our quality images, video and copy, and in order to get ours prioritised for our audience, we need to do the following; Build attractive and interactive presentations to work for us when we are not available to do so ourselves. These typically take the form of Power Point or PDF presentations. Build websites. a specialist partner Build engaging social media channels.

Distributing content; When distributing content it is important to note that we have two specific audiences, namely; B2B audiences – our travel intermediaries, and B2C - our end user. Both audiences require their own marketing message. We distribute content through the following channels; EMAIL – direct and bulk mailing. SOCIAL MEDIA platforms. TRAVEL TRADE press. Optimising content; Sophisticated and intelligent search engine search techniques are constantly refined to return best content to users. Optimising content is achieved in three ways; ON PAGE SEO techniques – design and build. OFF PAGE SEO techniques – creating content and link building. GOOGLE ANALYTICS & ADWORDS. Design, distribute and host reseller marketing collateral; The travel trade frequently requires establishment managers to provide ready to publish marketing material. Wilderness Explorer has developed an agent neutral platform to host online establishment marketing collateral, Build and host online reservations platforms; Online reservations platforms facilitate the rapidly growing immediate booking requirements from both the travel trade, and travel consumers. a specialist partner

The services of Wilderness Explorer are engaged in one or more of the following ways; Retainer based contract; Retainer based contracts are agreed based on the scope of work required, and this amount represents a fixed amount, and where required, plus disbursements. Wilderness Explorer performs all work on behalf of its client and, all collateral and intellectual property arising out of the contract remains the property of the client, both during and after, the expiry of the contract. Turnover based contract; What constitutes turnover is agreed upfront and, upon this, payment is received when the client receives payment. During and after the expiry of the contract period all collateral and marketing material arising out of the contract is retained by Wilderness Explorer. Project based contract; The client defines a scope of work, for which a project fee is attached. Payment for the project is due when the work is complete. Hourly based contract; When a job of work cannot be defined by any of the categories above, it will fall within a hourly based contract.
