  1. A Service of the Word

  2. PREPARATION We say together the lines in bold type. The Lord be with you. And also with you. Great is the Lord and worthy of all praise: Amen! Praise and glory and wisdom, Thanksgiving and honour, power and might, be to our God for ever and ever!

  3. OPENING PRAYER Loving Lord, fill us with your life-giving, joy-giving, peace-giving presence, that we may praise you now with our lips and all the day long with our lives, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

  4. HYMN O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness, Bow down before him, his glory proclaim, With gold of obedience and incense of lowliness, Kneel and adore him, the Lord is his name.

  5. Fear not to enter his courts in the slenderness Of the poor wealth thou wouldst reckon as thine. Truth in its beauty and love in its tenderness These are the offerings to lay on his shrine.

  6. These, though we bring them in trembling and fearfulness, He will accept for the name that is dear, Mornings of joy give for evenings of tearfulness, Trust for our trembling and hope for our fear.

  7. CONFESSIONS Let us pray for God’s forgiveness and healing : Lord our God, in our sin we have avoided your call. Our love for you is like a morning cloud, like the dew that goes away early. Have mercy on us; deliver us from judgement; bind up our wounds and revive us; in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

  8. The minister declares God's forgiveness May the God of love bring us back to himself, forgive us our sins, and assure us of his eternal love in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

  9. PRAISE O come let us sing out to the Lord: let us shout in triumph to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before his face with thanksgiving: and cry out to him joyfully in psalms . For the Lord is a great God: and a great king above all gods.

  10. In his hand are the depths of the earth: and the peaks of the mountains are his also. The sea is his and he made it: his hands moulded dry land. Come let us worship and bow down: and kneel before the Lord our maker. For he is the Lord our God: we are his people and the sheep of his pasture.

  11. If only you would hear his voice today: for he comes to judge the earth. He shall judge the world with righteousness: and the peoples with his truth. Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: as it was in the beginning, is now, and shall be for ever. Amen.

  12. RESPONSORIAL PRAISE O Lord, open my lips: and my mouth shall proclaim your praise. Sing psalms, hymns and sacred songs: let us sing to God with thanksgiving in our hearts. Let everything you do or say be done in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God through Jesus Christ. Amen.

  16. AFFIRMATION OF FAITH Let us declare our faith in God: We believe in God the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named. We believe in God the Son, who lives in our hearts through faith, and fills us with his love. We believe in God the Holy Spirit, who strengthens us with power from on high. We believe in one God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.

  17. PRAYERS Response: Lord hear us: Lord hear our prayer The intercessions ends with Merciful Father, accept these prayers for the sake of your Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.

  18. HYMN Be thou my vision O Lord of my heart, Naught be all else to me save that thou art, Thou my best thought in the day and the night, Waking and sleeping thy presence my light.

  19. Be thou my wisdom, be thou my true word, I ever with thee and thou with me Lord, Thou my great Father, and I thy true heir, Thou in me dwelling and I in thy care.

  20. High King of heaven, when battle is done, Grant heaven’s joy to me, O bright heaven’s sun, Christ of my own heart, whatever befall, Still be thou my vision, O Ruler of all.

  21. COLLECT Lord of all power and might, the author and giver of all good things: graft in our hearts the love of your name, increase in us true religion, nourish us with all goodness, and of your great mercy keep us in the same; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

  22. LORD’S PRAYER Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

  23. Let the voice of God's praise resound. He is the source of our life. Let the voice of God's praise resound. He is the source of our life. Be joyful in God, all you lands; sing the glory of his name. He is the source of our life.

  24. Come now and see the work of God, how wonderful he is toward all people. He is the source of our life. He turned the sea into dry land, so that they went through the water on foot. He is the source of our life.

  25. There we rejoiced in him. In his might he rules for ever. He is the source of our life. Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. Let the voice of God's praise resound. He is the source of our life. Amen.

  26. PEACE Blessed be Christ, the Prince of Peace. He breaks down the walls that divide us: praise Christ who is our peace! The peace of the Lord be always with you. And also with you.

  27. HYMN O Lord, my God, when I in awesome wonder Consider all the works thy hand has made. I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, Thy power throughout the universe displayed Then sings my soul, my Saviour God to thee, How great thou art, how great thou art. Then sings my soul, my Saviour God to thee, How great thou art, how great thou art.

  28. When through the woods and forest glades I wander And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur And hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze. Then sings my soul, my Saviour God to thee, How great thou art, how great thou art. Then sings my soul, my Saviour God to thee, How great thou art, how great thou art.

  29. When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart, When I shall bow in humble adoration And there proclaim, My God, how great thou art. Then sings my soul, my Saviour God to thee, How great thou art, how great thou art. Then sings my soul, my Saviour God to thee, How great thou art, how great thou art.

  30. CONCLUSION The Lord bless you and keep you. Amen. The Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you. Amen. The Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. Amen. Go in the peace of Christ. Thanks be to God.
