How it works

- Taxicard member pays a flat fare to the driver
that allows travel until a predetermined amount is shown on the meter: e.g. £1.50 until the meter exceeds £11.80 then anything above £11.80 is paid by the user
- Difference (subsidy) is paid by the borough
- The radio taxi company pays the driver the
subsidised portion of the trip on a weekly basis
