  2. Teacher Directions This is the classroom presentation for our A.L.I.C.E. and safety drills. If you feel that would benefit your students, you may break the presentation over the course of a few days inside the designated week. 2

  3. Safety Drills • At school it is my job to keep you safe and your job to help keep it that way. We have safety drills at our school to practice ways we can stay safe. 3

  4. Red Crisis Binder A red emergency binder is hanging in every classroom to tell us what to do in the event of an emergency. • Today we will talk about some of the information in the red binders so that we are prepared and safe. • One danger that we need to prepare for is stranger danger. 4

  5. Stranger Danger Stranger danger is when we see a stranger that might be dangerous . Talk to a Partner: What would you do if you were playing outside your house and a stranger was near you? At home you could… • Leave the area quickly or run away • Tell a parent or adult • Yell for help • Go inside your home and lock the door 5

  6. At School One way we stay safe at school is by keeping our school doors locked so that strangers cannot come into our school. Another way we do this is by practicing different types of safety drills. 6

  7. Danger Near our school If there is danger near our school we can… • Quickly come inside if we are at recess • Stay inside our classroom where we are safe. We will lock our classroom door and the adults in our school will be ALERT to make sure we keep you safe. 7

  8. Closed Campus Lockdown When we do this it is called a closed campus lockdown; we stay safe by staying in the classroom and we continue learning. 8

During a closed campus lockdown drill we... • Gather all students or come inside from recess • Lock the doors • Stay in the classroom • Continue with normal classroom routines • Wait for the announcement to end the drill 9

  10. Safe Remember it is my job to keep you safe. It is your job to help keep it that way. Next time we will learn more about ways to stay safe. 10
