Standard 1 Commitment to Professional Standards
1.1 Monitor compliance of self and others with professional standards and
propose areas for improvement
1.2 Develop and implement measures for reducing the risk of non-compliance
1.3 Make informed judgements to manage a situation where there may have
been a breach of professional standards
1.4 Develop strategies that promote relevant professional standards in own
area of responsibility which fosters a culture of continuous improvement
Standard 1.1 Which professional standards are used in your organisation? Assess how well they are
monitored to ensure compliance and propose ways of improving this.
Standard 1.2 Describe how you have developed or implemented measures to reduce the risk of
non-compliance and developed best practice (e.g. through risk assessments, complaints logs, staff meetings etc).
Standard 1.3 Describe how you’ve managed a situation where someone has not complied with the
Standard 1.4 Describe how you’ve championed professional standards in your organisation. This could be by
being a role model, or by leading initiatives such as staff training or monitoring practice.
Add your evidence for Standard 1: Upload evidence that supports your responses - this could
include emails, minutes of meetings, policies, procedures, working documents, a copy of professional standards or a code of practice, or statements from colleagues who can confirm that what you did met the requirements.

Step 1
Think about a piece of work, project
that best demonstrates the core standards.
Step 3
Review the tasks and produce a series of short reflective accounts explaining how you have met the standards in a format that best suits you.
Step 2
Gather all of your related documentation that demonstrates what you did.
Step 4
Ask a witness to submit statements confirming the work you did met the required standards.
