  4. Business Impact Statement Goals  Mu Multi-step step proce ocess: ss: 1. Notification of trade associations and/or business owners/operators. Data/information gathering.  Analysis of comments, arguments & data.  2. Make a determination of business impact. After a determination has been made, businesses must have an  opportunity to review the statement before the action is taken. 3. If the county determines that there will be an impact, State law requires that the county consider methods of modifying the rule to reduce impact. 4

Senate Bill 176 and Body-Worn Cameras  Th The 2017 17 Le Legis gisla latur ture ame mended nded NR NRS 289.830: 9.830: – Requiring uniformed peace officers who routinely interact with the public to wear a portable event recording device while on duty. – Body-worn camera programs must be implemented by July 1, 2018. 5

Senate Bill 176 and the 911 Surcharge  The current ent 911 Su Surchar arge ge is $0.25 fo for land d and d mobi bile le lines nes and nd $2.50 fo for r trunk unk lines nes. – The current surcharge supports equipment purchases and maintenance, technology & data updates and some staff at Emergency 911 dispatch centers in Washoe County. – 100% of the surcharge collected currently is utilized for Emergency 911 dispatch purposes.  Th The 2017 Legi gislatu lature e amended nded NR NRS 2 S 244 44A.764 643: – Authorizing the increase of the 911 Surcharge up to:  $1 for access lines (land lines)  $1 for mobile lines  $10 for trunk lines 7
