LEARNING JOURNEY OBJECTIVES
- To develop 21st Century skills of global awareness, cross-
cultural skills and sensitivities
- To expose students to China’s resilience as a nation and how
the Chinese people ensure relevancy and survival in a highly competitive and globalised environment.
- Deepen students’ commitment and rootedness to Singapore.
EXPECTATIONS OF TRIP PARTICIPANTS
- 1. Must be able to work well with others.
- 2. Put in time and effort in pre and post trip activities.
- 3. Abide by the teachers’ instructions at all time.
- 4. Adaptable and receptive to new environment or challenges.
- 5. Attend classes in the China schools (academic and CCA).
- 6. Must prepare to share their learning experience during the
school assembly upon their return from China.
PRE-TRIP PREPARATION WORK
- To research and be experts in the areas that students are
interested in.
- Four Main areas: History, Geography, Culture, Education
- Prepare souvenirs* for buddy.
- Prepare for exhibition and assembly sharing in 2018.
*school has prepared collar pins but students are encouraged to pen their own notes of appreciation

- SIM cards purchased from China telcos will not be able to
make long-distance call out of the country.
- Students will be organised in groups of 3 or 4 and each group
will be issued with a SIM router.
- Students will be issued their routers only during their project
work.

communication is via the WeChat app which can be installed on both iOS and Android devices.
COMMUNICATION
COMMUNICATION
- Teacher chaperone will update the school regularly on the trip
progress.
- Parents who needs to contact their child are advised to call the
school during office hours.
- A WeChat number will be provided for ONLY emergencies after
- ffice hours.
MEAL ARRANGEMENTS
- Food in China is not halal, i.e. fast food, street food, hotel breakfast.
- All meals will be pre-arranged or taken at predetermined halal
restaurants.
- Students are not allowed to buy street food.
PASSPORT COLLECTION
- Collection of passports at 0800hr, 6 Nov 2017.
- Teachers will hold on to the passports for safe-keeping before and
during the trip.
TRANSPORTATION AND REPORTING
- Two-way transportation will be provided to and fro between school
and airport.
- Students are required to inform one of the teacher chaperone by
0800hr if they are unwell on the day of travel.
- Students are to report to school at 2030hr, 8 Nov 2017 for their bag
checks before departing for Changi International Airport.
- Reporting attire is half-uniform (school t-shirt with jeans)
- Estimated time of arrival at school is 0015hr 14 Nov 2017
