Meeting Etiquette • Identify yourself when speaking • Mute your microphone when not speaking • You don’t have to be a delegate to speak up! • All questions are welcomed • The primary focus of these meetings is to convey information and clarify understanding • As a reminder, these sessions are being recorded for review by those who cannot attend live – by attending, you consent to being recorded

(information is found online) • Early Bird is already passed • Delegates: pre-register to help with credentialing • Paper option is available, but online is faster/easier! • Indicate whether receiving electronic or paper materials • Registration booth: Auditorium first floor • “Offsite Supporter” registration option is available • Arrange lodging and transport • Independence does not have great public transport options • Airport abbreviation is MCI (45 minutes away)

Delegates • Legislative preparation • Attend these CBMC delegation preparation sessions • Complete your own review/study/reflection on legislation and Letter of Counsel • Discuss with other church members to learn their viewpoints • Attend Discussion and Information Sessions (April 6) • Attend Priesthood Quorum or Caucus Sessions • Attend “Lunch and Learn” sessions to ask questions

Delegates • Credentialing • Based on fall Mission Center Conference Election • Names submitted to World Church Recorder by 1 February • Changes can be made through cbmcpresteam@gmail.com • If you’re no longer able to serve • If you are willing to serve as an alternate • Alternates are selected based on order elected/volunteered • Delegation Leader • CBMC leadership would love to have a delegate/volunteer to serve in this capacity • The delegation leader serves as point of contact with conference leadership for the delegation • If interested, contact Michele & Tim (cbmcpresteam@gmail.com)

Delegates • Seating • We will learn delegation seat location upon arrival in Independence • Delegates must sit in assigned area on main floor of the Auditorium chamber during legislative sessions • Lecterns • Numbered around the conference chamber • Use to help you identify our seating location • Where you will go to be placed in queue to speak, and to speak when recognized by the chair • Speak slowly and deliberately (you are being translated into 10 languages)

Delegates • Polling Device • Primary tool for voting • Comes with a slot to clip onto your name badge • You keep all week • Example to the right • Polling Device Steward • Will be trained on handling/use of electronic polling devices for our delegation • Must be available for training on Saturday, 6 April for training: Auditorium Dining Room, Lower level • We will seek a volunteer during 26 February session

C-2: Standing Rules • Overview • Establishes the operating parameters for conference • Asserts that Robert’s Rules of Order, Newly Revised , will be used as the primary structure for conference business • While administrative, it does define voting guidelines, how delegates can seek the floor to speak (and for how long), and how the agenda can be modified • Key Points • Use of Proportional Voting • Badges needed during caucus and business sessions • Proposed amendments must be submitted in writing one day in advance
