GET READY FOR THE SEASON

• Player Evaluations: Aug 28 - Aug 30 (Wed, Thursday, Friday) from 5pm-9pm
• First scheduled practices: September 3rd (Tuesday) as per schedule
• First game: Weekend of Sept 7th/8th and games are on Saturdays or Sundays
• Season End Jamborees:
• Grade 5/6 =October 26th/27th
• Grade 7/8 = November 2nd/3rd
• No Practices:
• Sept 2 (Labor Day)
• Sept 30 (Rosh Hashanah)
• Oct 9 (Yom Kippur)
• Nov 5 (Election Day)
• 5th Annual Father Daughter Game & Family Social: Sept 22nd 5:30-7:30pm
• End of Season Banquet: Nov TBD

GAMES

◼ Wear your practice pinnie ◼ Arrive on time; Pick up on time ◼ As soon as girls arrive - ready to practice ◼ Stick, mouth guard, eye guards, shin guards ◼ Sit on sidelines if missing equipment ◼ NO JEWELRY, hair tied back ◼ We hope to have teams posted day after final evaluations ◼ No bottles or garbage to be left behind on field

PRACTICE DETAILS

◼ Wear uniform ◼ Bring stick, eye goggles, mouth guard, shin guards, water bottle ◼ Remove ALL jewelry (including earrings, bracelets, even newly pierced ears) ◼ Arrive at least 30 minutes before game time ◼ If player is late the coach may not play her in the first half Coaches determine line up and play of game during warm ups ◼ No bottles or garbage to be left behind on field

◼ At all times, at home field or away field you are representing New Canaan ◼ Your decisions, words and actions reflect on us all ◼ Please only stand or sit on opposite side of field from the team ◼ Please do not talk to coach or your daughter during game or at half time ◼ We prefer the players to ask questions of their coaches rather than the parent ◼ If you have an issue regarding playing time etc. please have the PLAYER approach the coach; not the parent

IN-SEASON VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

SIGN UP AT THE TABLE: ✓ Father/Daughter Game (Lead and volunteers) ✓ Parent Assistant Coaches ✓ Team Managers ✓ Team Photographers EMAIL YOUR TEAM MANAGER: ✓ Game Parents ✓ Safety Parents

Team Managers are needed for all 5th-8th Grade Teams Responsibilities Include:

✓ Coordinate Safety Parents & Game Parents ✓ Send weekly reminder emails and communicate schedule changes to the team ✓ Notify Coach when players are unable to make a game. ✓ Work with all other Team Managers to throw End-of-season Banquet. See Volunteer Tab on our website for more details

TEAM MANAGERS

We MUST have a Safety Parent assigned to each practice and a Game Parent assigned to each game Responsibilities Include:

SAFETY & GAME PARENTS

Safety Parents:

✓ Arrive 15 minutes early to practice ✓ Sit on the field - not in car or outside of fence ✓ Bring: charged cell phone, chair, book, etc. ✓ Help with ice packs & bandages if necessary ✓ Remind players to pick up bottles & garbage ✓ Stay until the last player has been picked up

Game Parents:

✓ Stand on the sidelines with the team ✓ Help with ice packs & bandages if necessary ✓ Keep track of score & time if no field clock ✓ Stay until the last player has been picked up See Volunteer Tab on our website for more details
