Stirling Castle
Stirling Castle has been a fortification upon its volcanic crag since the 1100s. Stirling Castle has witnessed much bloodshed during the late 1200s as the English occupied it a few times only to be ousted first by William Wallace, then a second time by Robert the Bruce and then a third time after the battle of Bannockburn. It was an important residence to all the Stewart monarchs.
Glencoe
It is always mesmerizing to drive through this glen of volcanic origins. Its rugged beauty is sight to behold. It has an appearance in Skyfall as well as the Harry Potter movies.
Fort Augustus on the banks of Loch Ness
A trip to Scotland would not seem complete without a visit to Loch Ness. This beautiful loch is the home to Scotland’s legendary elusive serpent,
Loch Ness contains more fresh water than all the lakes in England and Wales combined. A night will be spent in Fort Augustus to be rested for the next day’s adventure.
