Active Communications ACTIVE COMMUNICATIONS How to communicate with the different stakeholders and in the form of their

  • choosing. When to communicate and how often? All lists offer the opportunity to

withdraw at any time from the mailing list. MEMBER CLUBS – MailChimp, Social Media Need club contacts that are current and updated regularly. One Club = One Vote must have at a minimum the voting delegate info. Communicate every six weeks (plus social media information). PARTICIPANTS – Social Media, Direct Emails (CurlON Chronicle) Open source opt in for communications. CurlON Chronicle, Direct emails. Communicate on a monthly basis. COMPETITORS – Direct Emails, Social Media Opt in when signing up for competition. Direct emails usually pertaining to the competition or information. Communicate on an as needed basis. Create a business plan that matches the Board’s strategic goals. Effective Governance EFFECTIVE GOVERNANCE The elected Board prepares a strategic plan that follows the bylaws after consultation with the Member Clubs. The plan is built on series of pillars and helps guide the operations team in the development of their business plan. CurlON Strategic Plan 2019-2020 In September, 2019 the Board presented a new set of bylaws for the Association that changed the voting structure from a Voting Member system to a system that has each club vote (One Club = One Vote) CurlON Bylaws – Effective September 14, 2019 To be effective the Board needs to be in communication with each member club and have a voting representative from each club annually. Clubs are now able to update their information directly on the CurlON website by logging into their portal and updating the information. LOGIN PORTAL Annually the Board reviews their strategic plan your voice is important please contact the Board directly with any suggestions or comments. ROWAN’S LAW

Effective July 1, 2019 the Government of Ontario has updated the legislation requirements under Rowan’s Law. ALL CLUBS MUST INFORM and HAVE ANY PARTICIPANT UNDER THE AGE OF 25 SIGN AN AKNOWLEDGEMENT FORM BEFORE PARTICIPATING IN THE SPORT AT YOUR FACILITY. SAFE SPORT RESPONSIBLE COACHING MOVEMENT

Clubs may become certified in the Safe Sport which supports the Responsible Coaching Movement and have a Safe Sport Certified facility sticker to post at your club. 3 Steps to Responsible Coaching Movement Rule of Two Background Screening Ethics & Respect Training Club SAFE SPORT Verification. Update your policies (Word templates) Rowan’s Law – Concussion Code of Conduct, Concussion Guideline Safe Sport Policies – Abuse, Appeal, Code of Conduct, Ethics, Discipline, Dispute Resolution, Investigations, Rule of Two, Screening, Social Media, Whistleblower. ONTARIO HEALTH PROTECTION AND PROMOTION ACT

Food Handler Certificate Program All Ontario facilities are required to have a Certified Food Handler onsite at any times when food is being served. Ontario Regulation 493/17 Food Premises Part VI – Food Handling Section 32 Food Handler Training

  • 32. Every operator of a food service premise shall ensure that there is at

least one food handler or supervisor on the premise who has completed food handler training during every hour in which the premise is operating. CurlON will be launching a training program this fall that will organize group training sessions at reasonable costs for clubs to have their volunteers or kitchen staff trained. Maximum cost per trained candidate will be $ 40.00. First BETA test will be held at Metcalfe Curling Club in early December
