- 3% premium cost increase
- All plans are remaining unchanged

2019-20 HEALTH INSURANCE CHANGES
FITNESS DISCOUNT
New Fitness Discount Program:
- Tracks all activities in steps
- Syncs to a Fitbit device or allows
manual entry
- Converts almost any activity to steps
- 210,000 steps in a month meets the
minimum step goal
- $20 Target gift card for meeting monthly
step goal
- Up to TWO individual adults per family
(if on the health plan)
- Effective 7/1/18: Up to $500 in VEBA
contributions available for completing two activities + partaking in the screening
- Effective 7/1/19: $500 in VEBA
contributions continued for next year

Plan Choice Considerations HSA or VEBA
Electing Health Savings Account
- Can only be paired with Plan #3 and Plan #4
- Employee can contribute their own funds into an HSA -
$3500(s)/$7000(f) - 2019
- HSA funds can be used for a spouse or child REGARDLESS of Single or
Family group coverage
- Any VEBA or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) must be “limited use”
- nly for non-health insurance items (Dental, Vision, Daycare, etc.)
- Conflict with “other coverage” (Spouse’s plan, Tricare, Medicare)
- Upon retirement, funds cannot be used to pay individual market
premiums (Medicare premiums okay).

Electing VEBA
- Available with all four plans.
- No employee contribution allowed
- VEBA funds can only be used for a spouse or dependent if you carry
family coverage OR if your spouse/dependents have other group coverage
- Can have a full Flexible Spending Account
- Can have “other coverage” (Medicare, Tri-Care, or spouse’s plan)
- Can only be used for non-health insurance expenses like dental and
vision if also contributing to an HSA
- Funds can be used for individual or group insurance AND Medicare
upon retirement
