CPHS Social/Emotional Health Plan

"Hot Pass" Initiative Students with stress/anxiety are issued a "hot pass," whereby they can visit the guidance office as needed to meet with their counselor and/or have a quiet place to "de-stress." Social/Emotional Support Assistance CPCSC added a full-time school home-school facilitator (HSF) to meet with "at- risk" students as targeted by high school counselors. The HSF meets with students on a regularly scheduled basis and is also available for these students as needed. Stress Management Students will participate in activities during their resource period addressing stress management. Students will learn about various forms of stress/anxiety and coping mechanisms for managing stress. Stress Management Group Counseling Our HSF and counselors will conduct weekly group counseling sessions with targeted students counselors have recommended could benefit from this activity.

CPHS Social/Emotional Health Plan

CPHS is continuing to research/implement ACT Engage as a means to identify students who are exhibiting issues with academic behaviors. ACT Engage helps schools:

  • 1. Identify students with personal challenges that go unreported in standardized

academic tests

  • 2. Improve graduation rates and directly reach students whose personal

challenges may hinder academic success

  • 3. Evaluate a student’s self-reported psychosocial attributes
  • 4. Define a student’s levels of academic risk
  • 5. Use suggested interventions to help students improve academic achievement

Post-Secondary Planning

Our goal is 100% placement into a 2 or 4 year college, trade school, apprenticeship, workforce, or military. We are utilizing our resource period, resource teachers and guidance staff to reach this goal.
