Located in the southern interior of the province and situated five hours from Vancouver, six hours from Seattle, and eight hours from Calgary by highway. Possibly the best climate in Canada. With over 2,000 hours of sunshine per year, hot summer days, beautiful sandy beaches, and endless outdoor activities, Penticton is a vibrant tourism destination. Two warm-water lakes lined with soft sand beaches. In fact, Skaha and Okanagan Lake beaches were voted number two in TripAdvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards for Best Beaches in Canada in 2011. The hub of wine tourism with access to 170 wineries in the Okanagan Valley. There are 76 wineries within 20 minutes of Penticton. The Naramata Bench, arguably the most scenic of British Columbia’s wine regions, is minutes from downtown Penticton and offers a world class wine tasting and dining experience.

• Approximately 400 of the paddlers who attend the

Penticton Dragon Boat Festival are breast cancer survivors from throughout BC and Alberta. Add to these the many, many supporters – friends and family that attend to show their support.

• Our event features races comprised entirely of survivor

teams and then a very moving pink carnation ceremony that is a fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society.

• Penticton’s ceremony is regarded as one of the best. A

huge crowd of spectators and supporters engulf the crews as the boats glide onto the beach.

• Penticton’s dragon boat community is nearing 400 paddlers. Our

non-profit society currently supports teams of individuals with special needs, young adults struggling with mental illness, senior citizens and cancer survivors. Your sponsorship will allow us to continue to fund and support more groups like these giving them an opportunity to belong to a team, get out on the water and stay fit.

Support for the PDBF not only offers the opportunity to reach thousands during the event itself, but businesses will be supporting locals who paddle every day in Penticton.
