COMELF registered as a state-owned, joint-stock company in 1991 Privatization procedure was completed on March 22nd, 1999, when SC UZINSIDER SA Bucharest purchased the whole package of shares still owned by the State-Property Fund (SPF). Since 1995 COMELF has been listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, being one of the 12 companies who have founded it. On February 23rd, 1995, the Quality Management System has been certified by TÜV SÜD Management Service Germany; such certification has been renewed regularly. In 2005 the Environment Management System has been certified. In 2013 we have been issued a Certificate for the integrated Quality – Environment – Work Health and Safety system according to ISO 9001/2008, ISO 14001/2004 and BS OHSAS 18001/2007. Also in 2013 we have begun to implement the requirements of Standard EN 1090 so that today the manufacturing flow follows all the requirements for Steel (EN 1090-2) and Aluminium (EN 1090-3) Structures. COMELF is also authorized to manufacture Pressure Equipment according to standards AD 2000-Merkblatt HP 0, TRD 201. COMELF is a production company operating in the field of Industrial Equipment and Machinery and its main scope of activity is the manufacturing of Earth-Moving Machinery, Power-Plant and Environment-Protection Equipment, Tools and Parts, Equipment for Lifting and Transport, including components. The manufacturing works are performed in 6 Manufacturing Bays, with a total surface of 87,763 m², and provided with equipment, machinery, machining tools, laboratories and the necessary utilities networks for performing the production activities. At present there are 3 such business units: Factory for Earth Moving Machinery and Equipment, Factory for Earth Moving Machinery Components, and Factory for Stainless Steel Products. Since its registration COMELF has lead a constant policy of development/modernization by reinvesting part of its profit, acquiring bank-loans and European Funds. After the economic crisis has started, diversifying the range of products and assimilating new products have been one of the company's fundamental preoccupations. The Company's Production has had a permanent growth trend, except for the crisis years (2009 and 2010) and the commodities are delivered for destinations abroad/inside the EU Community either directly or through commissionaires, in proportion of more than 95% each year.
