Gssep Onlus arose from the idea of providing an innovative contribution and competence in terms of consolidated managerial skills, as well as of the vision

  • f sustainable development in the world, focusing on

past experience in institutional contexts as well as of that of its international Founders. Vision and competences dedicated to the target of sustainable development, in a new logic, integrated and global, of the Territory for the Territory.

2

slide-3
SLIDE 3

Gssep adheres to and endorses the vision of sustainability provided in 1991 by the World Conservation Union, UN Environment Program and World Fund for nature that identifies it as << an improved quality of life while living within the carrying capacity of supporting ecosystems, of which depends>>. At the same time Gssep Onlus indentifies itself with the definition provided by the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives that defines it as << development that offers environmental, social and economic services to all members of an area without threatening the viability of natural systems, products and social to which the supply of such services is dedicated>>. Gssep Onlus however, goes beyond this definition and puts the “globality” of the sustainable development as an essential and unavoidable element of such development under the view of the necessary social integration, or rather civil, institutional and <<cultural>> let also say <<philosophical>>.

4

slide-5
SLIDE 5

Gssep Onlus identified as guidelines for its own actions, aimed to providing a concrete contribution to global sustainable development, the creation of economic industrial integrated social models, based

  • n simultaneously meeting the

needs of more and more renewable energy supply and food in well-defined territorial areas, integrating this development , and even placing it in the logic of consequence the development of civil and social.

5

slide-6
SLIDE 6

In the model created by Gssep Onlus, the training, the culture and the democratic civil life dedicated to young people , women and children, as the weakest categories, are essential and integral parts of the sustainable development itself.

6

slide-7
SLIDE 7

The central point is the Territory from which starts the Gssep initiative, in the logic of biodiversity, and which can be implemented just impacting on macro institutional profiles deemed necessary also to a broader territorial level (State/Government ) to meet the needs of the same Territory and enable it to be able to accomplish in the long term the model

  • f

sustainable development and concretely based on the components specifically selected for such Territory.

7

slide-8
SLIDE 8

More clean energy, more food, both dedicated to the Territory and produced in compliance with and economic and not “welfare” logic, more wealth directly and indirectly, more culture and social.

8

slide-9
SLIDE 9

The model of Gssep Onlus is based on the concept of sustainable growth and opposes to models geared to establish a happy decrease.

9

slide-10
SLIDE 10

The model of Gssep Onlus aims to achieve a fair correction, aimed to the global sustainability of the Territory, of the economic, commercial and industrial values which are founding the individual initiatives of global development, based

  • n criteria and parameters

developed by Gssep Onlus itself and defining the social and economic model of Gssep Onlus.

10

slide-11
SLIDE 11

Such model is therefore from one side based on the development of initiatives autonomously considered profitable, from the other side aims to correct the same profit in a logic of fair rebalancing of the wealth produced in the Territory also supporting the agricoltural, social and civil life development.

11

slide-12
SLIDE 12

In doing so, GSSEP Onlus fights economic model both

  • f pure planning and based
  • n a pure capitalism concept

(starting from the conisderation that both economic models have been dramatically and definitively failed) and based his global financial model and business plan on the concept of «fair profit», relatively considered and referred to the specific Territory.

12

slide-13
SLIDE 13

In

  • ther

words the sustainibility as final «outcome» of Gssep Onlus initiative produces the quantity and determines the «fairness» of the profits which are consequently different in respect to all the Territories involved, but without limiting the principle that the relevant initiative needs to generate a global sustainable overall impact on the Territory as a result of the implementation

GSSEP VISION

An integrated view of: In just two words: GLOBAL SUSTAINABILITY

slide-15
SLIDE 15

WHAT DO WE DO? Promoting dialoguing with Governments and Institutions Big scale integrated projects based on the combined development of renewable Energy and agriculture and the simultaneous and related implementation of social Investments (schools, hospitals, multicultural center, human rights protection). WHO ARE WE? A group of experience professionals, actively engaged in many disciplines such as Development, legal, economics, finance, energy, Agriculture, social responsability, environmental science, engineering, chemistry and public affairs.

WHAT ARE WE? We are an NGO promoting all over the world integrated big scale projects granting actual benefits to all the players wherever territories are open accepting their new global sustainable development model

15

slide-16
SLIDE 16

KEY FACTS OF THE WORLD: BUSINESS AS USUAL Population is still rising: 7.2 bilion people… 9 bilion by the early 2040 Highly unequal in the distribution

  • f income within countries

and between countries UNSUSTANABLE ECONOMIC SYSTEM UNSUSTAINABLE SOCIAL CONDITIONS UNSUSTAINABLE ENVIRONMENTAL PRACTICES Crowded Planet 1 bilion people struggle for mere survival every day Green house gases are still increasing

OUR BUSINESS IDEA

Growth More Energy More Availability of food Better Quality of life

GSSEP: OUR BUSINESS IDEA FIRST STEP What we want to achieve:

17

slide-18
SLIDE 18

All the players have to take significant benefit from the integrated project

20

slide-21
SLIDE 21

The Gssep Onlus business plan model consequentely corrects «reducing», the profitability of any power and energy investment to allow better profitability to the agriculture activity also granting royalties on a year basis aimed to be employed for social and civil developments.

21

slide-22
SLIDE 22

But all the initiatives remain with a significant profitability. The welfare logic is far away from GSSEP Onlus vision which also receives a voluntary economic donation by all the Players, territory include, for its own activity and coordination. The management of all the above process is impelemented with the active participation of the Territory which also acts as promoter, while Gssep Onlus assumes a role of guarantor and active coordinator of the whole process.

22

slide-23
SLIDE 23

WE KEEP THE MAIN PART OF THE ENERGY OUTPUT IN THE TERRITORIES WHERE THE INITIATIVES ARE IMPLEMENTED IN ORDER TO PROMOTE LOCAL GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT GSSEP’S RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES ARE MAINLY ENERGY FROM FOOD RESIDUES, PHOTOVOLTAIC, HYDRO, GEOTHERMAL, ALL COMBINED INTO «DEDICATED AGRO AND BIOENERGY ISLANDS» ADAPTED TO THE PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE TERRITORIES. SUCH LARGE AGROBIOENERGY ISLANDS ARE OF VERY SIGNIFICANT DIMENSIONS AND CONTRIBUTE TO A MASSIVE PRODUCTION OF ENERGY IN THE FRAME OF A FULLY INTEGRATED SUSTAINABLE SCHEME WITH THE HOSTING TERRITORY. GSSEP’S BIOMASS PLANTS DO NOT UTILIZE FOOD WHICH REMAINS IN THE TERRITORY AND CONSTITUTES AN IMPORTANT COMPONENT OF THE GSSEP ECONOMY.

KEY PRINCIPLES

SLIDE 24

OUR BUSINESS IDEA

FEASIBILITY OF THE PROJECT LARGE SCALE PROJECTS PARTNERSHIPS LONG TERM VIEW

SOCIAL INVESTMENTS in schools, hospitals, multicultural centers, renewable energy museum, childhood and women emancipation, training and education programs on food, energy and sustainable development targets

ENERGY INVESTMENT should address energy needs within a comprehensive sustainable vision

THAT MEANS:

A new model to ensure developing countries access to sustainable , reliable and affordable energy, not affecting climate change and taking into account economical , technological and geopolitical issues

Sustainability first Feasibility Very important infrastructural investment OUR WAY OF WORKING

24

slide-25
SLIDE 25

With particular reference to some of the contracts and particularly considering those concerning stable supply of the food crops, it has been forecast a significant modification of the market price to sustain and make profitable the agriculture segment and has been also forecast as necessary guarantee to such stable supply the guarantee of the Sovereign

  • f the Territory.

Such a scheme, already presented in Paris at OECD National Forum in 2013, has been also validated by World Bank. GSSEP ONLUS

25

a Gssep Onlus Project, may also assume different dimension, also smaller. Naturally, the maximization of the results is got through the implementation of big scale initiatives. Gssep Onlus model is mainly concived to Territories/States who have the need to implement a singificant structural economical change towards development. In Gssep Onlus project for Tunisia, to make just an example, there is the forecast

  • f 6 bioenergetic islands for

5000 ha each.

SLIDE 36

GSSEP PROJECTS SUSTAINABLE FRAME

IN ORDER TO HAVE A CONFIRMATION OF THE POTENTIALLY INTERESTED INVESTORS WHICH GSSEP REASONABLY BELIEVES HAVING THE CHANCE TO INVOLVE IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROJECT, WE CONSIDER ESSENTIAL:

  • HAVING A BANKABLE FRAME
  • FULLY IN PLACE AND NAMELY THAT:
  • 1. BE PROVIDED WITH LEGAL INSTRUMENTS

AND FACILITATION

  • TO GRANT THE INVESTORS THE LAND NECESSARY TO

IMPLEMENT THE PROJECT AND PARTICULARLY THE BIOENERGY ISLANDS UNDER A CONCESSION SCHEME FOR A PERIOD OF AT LEAST TWENTYFIVE/THIRTY YEARS

  • AND NO COST/FEE FOR INVESTORS;
  • 2. TAX AND FISCAL EXEMPTION FOR TEN

YEARS ON ALL THE REVENUES OF THE PROJECT AND NOT APPLICATION OF VAT DUTIES.

  • 3. AUTHORIZATION PROCESS OF ALL THE

PROJECTS TO BE COMPLIED WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME BEING AGREED IN FULL RESPECT AND COMPLIANCE WITH THE APPLICABLE LAWS (ALSO SPECIFICALLY ISSUED FOR THE PROJECT, IF NECESSARY) BUT IN A PERIOD:

  • NOT EXCEEDING SIX/NINE MONTHS FROM THE DATE OF

STARTING OF THE AUTHORIZATION PROCEDURE

  • SO TO OPTIMIZE TIME AND COSTS OF THE PROJECT

IMPLEMENTATION;

36

slide-37
SLIDE 37

SUSTAINABLE FRAME

  • 4. A SPECIFIC TARIFF SCHEME
  • TO BE PROVIDED FOR ALL THE PRODUCED

POWER WHICH SHALL NOT BE BOUGHT BY THE GOVERNMENT/ENERGY AUTHORITY

  • PROVIDED THAT THE ENERGY SOLD TO

GOVERNMENT /ENERGY AUTHORITY COULD BE SOLD AT A PRICE TO BE AGREED TAKING INTO ACCOUNT, AS A BASE TO BE INCREASED, THE CURRENT TARIFF BASED ON A POWER PURCHASE AGREEMENT UNDER BANKABLE TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • 5. ETHANOL PRODUCED BY THE

BIOENERGY ISLAND BE FREELY EXPORTED AND SOLD TO NATIONAL AND/OR PRIVATE COMPANIES WITH NO EXTRA COSTS DUE TO DUTIES, LEVIES AND SIMILAR

  • 6. FULL SUPPORT TO GRID ISSUES

BY LOCAL GOVERNMENT IN ORDER TO FACILITATE POWER DISPATCHING AND ALSO GRID REPOWERING, IF NECESSARY

  • 7. THE PROJECT SHALL IMPLY A

LOT OF INFRASTRUCTURAL ACTIVITIES

  • PART OF THEM SUCH ROADS, LOGISTIC

WAREHOUSES, HARBOR ENLARGING SHOULD BE COMMITTED AND GUARANTEED AS FAR AS A PAYMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT IS CONCERNED,

  • WHILE OTHERS SUCH HOSPITALS, SCHOOLS,

EDUCATION CENTERS SHALL BE IMPLEMENTED FREE OF CHARGE BY THE INVESTORS AS AN ESSENTIAL PART OF THE PROJECT IN COMPLIANCE WITH GSSEP PRINCIPLES,

  • IN RELATION TO THAT WE ALSO NEED A

DEDICATED AUTHORIZATION AND COMMITMENT STATUS UNDER BANKABLE TERMS AND CONDITIONS;
