WALT – Measure different volumes to make a potion

You will need: A measuring jug/container of some kind A variety of different containers/ bottles (check your recycling bin for these!) Different coloured liquids or potion ingredients. You can use rice, beans, water – water with food colouring etc.

Time to make your potion ingredients!!!

On your bottles or containers, can you write the capacity of each one and also the amount of liquid you have added to it.

For example: Inky slime – capacity 300ml Volume – 225ml

Now it’s time to make your potion! Write a set of instructions on how to make your potion, and be specific about how much of each ingredient you will need (otherwise you might make a completely different potion altogether!!!)

Potion for resilience 1. Start off with 125ml of frog’s breath.

  • 2. Next, add a few drops (5ml) of dragon’s

blood.

  • 3. After that, pour 56ml of inky slime into the

bottle.

  • 4. Mix your potion together.
  • 5. Finally, shake a tiny amount (2ml) of Fairie’s

tears into you concoction.

  • 6. Drink on an empty stomach for amazing

resilience!
