WHAT IS YEE ?

Youth and Environment Europe (YEE) is the largest independent European network of environmental youth organizations. OUR GOAL IS TO MITIGATE THE CLIMATE AND ENVIRONMENTAL CRISIS BY: YEE was founded in 1983 in Stockholm. YEE has an office located at the heart of Europe, Prague.

YEE MEMBERS

We believe in the essential role of young people in solving the climate crisis and achieving a socially fair transition that leaves no one behind. We strive for inclusivity, equality, freedom of speech, mutual respect, tolerance, intersectional approaches and democratic decision-making processes.

YEE BOARD

A board composed of six members under 30, ideally gender and geographically balanced We gather 42 members

in 26 countries. YEE is proud to have many members around the Black Sea and the Central and Eastern Europe region

YEE OFFICE

The network is supported by a dynamic staff of under 35: a secretary-general, a finance coordinator, a project manager; usually hosting 2 ESC Volunteers per year.

LET GRASSROOTS GROW

In 2019 we explored youth participation from the perspective

• f local projects and bottom-up
• initiatives. Through webinars,

training courses and workshops in Ireland and the Czech Republic, we helped selected young people to develop their ideas, providing them with financial support to implement their projects.

IMAGINING THE GREEN FUTURE

This year our main aim is to contribute to the sustainability of the activities and structure of environmental youth movements, informal groups and organisations to ensure young people’s access to participation in policy-making processes.

YEE is the only youth board member of the European Environmental Bureau, the largest network of environmental citizens’ organisations in Europe YEE one of the leading members on sustainability topics of the Youth Forum, the platform of the national youth councils and international non-governmental youth

• rganisations in Europe.

YEE is a founding member of Generation Climate Europe, the first coalition of youth-led NGOs at the European level, pushing for stronger action from the EU on climate and environmental issues.
