➢ MEAL SHAMING IS PROHIBITED
➢ Schools must develop a written anti-shaming plan that meets all required criteria ➢ Note: Schools/Districts will no longer be able to refuse a meal or limit students to an alternate meal
➢All schools/districts that participate in the National School Lunch Program or School Breakfast Program ➢Except schools/districts serving meals at no charge (e.g., Community Eligibility Provision)
➢Plans were required to be submitted to the NYS Education Department (NYSED) by July 1, 2018

CHILD NUTRITION PROGRAM OFFICE: ➢ Has developed and distributed implementation guidelines, and has provided training and technical assistance to the field ➢ Has issued Equipment Grants in accordance with the 2018-19 enacted State budget ➢ Is required to post on the NYSED website all schools that meet the 70% requirement and provide notice to those schools each December starting in 2019 ➢ Must post on NYSED website participation information for schools required to implement and all others implementing Breakfast After the Bell, on or before May 1st each year
