AS/NZS61439 - The Changes

Standards Australia/ New Zealand introduced ASNZS61439 in M ay 2017 with a 5 year phasing in period. Pre M ay 2021 Either ASNZS3439, ASNZS61439 or IEC61439 may be specified for Switchboard design and construction in Australia and New Zealand

Principal Sponsor

Post M ay 2021 ASNZS3439 can no longer be referenced. Only ASNZS61439 or IEC61439 may be specified for Switchboard design and construction in Australia and New Zealand reference to TTA (type tested assembly) or PTTA (partial type tested assembly) disappears, assemblies now have 13 criteria that they need to be verified to, using 1 of the 3 following mythologies:

  • type testing
  • comparison with a type tested assembly
  • assessment (by calculation or application of design rules)
