Private Standards

SPS Committee adopted five actions dealing with (i) definition

  • f the scope of the discussions on SPS-related private standards

and (ii) promotion of information exchange among various entities, incl. between SPS Committee and the OIE, Codex and IPPC (G/SPS/55) Ongoing: an electronic working group was established in 2013 to develop a working definition of SPS-related private standards, with China and New Zealand serving as "co- stewards"(G/SPS/W/283)
