November 13, 2017 Council direct staff to seek partnership opportunities to advance a new pool and related amenities and that staff report back to Council in 2018 with preferred partner(s) and level of magnitude the partner(s) wishes to undertake.”

May 28, 2018 Council approves a memorandum of Understanding with the YMCA of Owen Sound Grey Bruce, and; Council authorized staff to proceed with a Request for Proposal to hire a consultant for the completion of a Market Study for a Recreation Facility.

 Market Study  YMCA provides input into facility design and fundraising  Endorsement by Council and YMCA  YMCA operates facility excluding ice rink if affixed to the Community Complex  Both parties committed to keeping facility in “as new” condition with preventative maintenance plans.

 Full facility provides a wide variety of activities for all ages.  A full facility would include two pools, gymnasium, a conditioning centre, fitness studio, cycle studio, program and meeting rooms, change rooms.
