Hereros
Hereros
Decked out in voluminous Victorian-style dresses, complete with horn-shaped headgear, the Herero ladies of Namibia have held on tight to a piece of 19th century history. The 'Ohorokova', the traditional Herero dress, is a permanent reminder of the tribe's unsettling past and history. Their cultural dress is a continued protest against the Germans who almost exterminated the entire tribe in the genocide of 1904.
StitchKit
StitchKit is a FashionTech kit created by MakeFashion It began as STEAM workshops, introducing people to technology through fashion StitchKit’s purpose is to reduce the barriers into technology and fashion
Steampunk
Steampunk fashion is a subgenre
- f the steampunk movement in
science fiction. In the realm of fashion, a steampunk look is typically built on a Victorian silhouette, which means that women tend to wear corsets. Because of the centrality of Victorian design, steampunk can be considered a neo-Victorian
- movement. In other words,
steampunk combines the Victorian with the new.
Create a miniature Fall/Winter 2019 Collection Create at least 4 runway ready looks– up to 6 Create a cohesive collection using the Herero women and Steampunk fashion as inspiration Your main neo-Victorian look must include StitchKit technology
