Welcome to the 3rd Grade EOG Night! Please sign in! Thank you.
Overview Reading EOG will be held on Thursday, May 26 ● Math EOG will be held on Friday, May 27 ● You will receive a letter with detailed scores after the EOG. Students ● earn achievement levels on a scale of 1 - 5. A new achievement level was adopted in March, 2014 indicating that all ○ students that score a level 4 & 5 demonstrate college and career readiness. A level 3 indicates that students are ready for the next grade, but do not ○ meet the college and career readiness standard. This also enables a more accurate identification of students who need additional instruction & support.
Reading Reading and knowledge of vocabulary are assessed by having ● students read selections and answer questions related to the selections. The Reading EOG consists of 52 items. ● Students read literary selections (i.e., fiction, nonfiction, and ● poetry) and informational selections (i.e., content and consumer). The variety of selections allows for the assessment of reading for various purposes: to acquire literary experience, to gain information, and to perform a task.
Read to Achieve Students who scored an achievement level of a 3 or higher on the ● BOG have met an exemption. Students who have passed all 12 standards (earning at least a 73% ● across 3 passages) for the portfolio passages have met an exemption. Students that earn a level P or above for the EOY assessment (TRC) ● have met an exemption.
Read to Achieve Continued... If exemptions are NOT met by the end of third grade: Read to Achieve Test ● Summer Camp- opportunities to meet exemption ● Promoted to a transitional fourth grade class with 90-minutes of ● intensive reading instruction on the third grade level, provided on a daily basis
