CURRICULUM
The curriculum
- An entire planned learning experience
- This includes the study of the full range on National
Curriculum subjects as well as cross-curricular and co- curricular activities
- The curriculum is delivered through lessons, routines (such
as assemblies), outside companies and learning outside the classroom, including educational visits and home learning

Home learning
‘The intrinsic value of homework activities is far more important than the precise amount of time devoted to them (OFSTED/DCSF).’
- Students in Key Stage 3 will be set home learning
activities as and when appropriate, on a regular basis.
- Support: subject teachers, parents and carers, extended
learning club (Resource Centre until 4.30 pm)

Summer 2017 at Beal High School ...
Sixth Form Leavers
- The Oxbridge 7
- 4 MDV, including our first ever VET
- 9 students got 3 A* grades or better
- 27 students got 3 A grades or better
- These are our best top end results ever and were
achieved in a time of great uncertainty, especially with the 13 new linear A Levels.
- 222 UCAS applications
- 200 placed (90%) 48 hours after results
- 30% placed at Russell Group universities

Assessment
- Pupils are assessed according to how well they are
doing and against how well they should be doing using the KS2 SATS scores
- Teachers grade students during the year and you will
be kept informed through reports and Progress Evenings
