  5. • Enniskillen Royal Grammar School-Cooper Crescent and Lough Shore Sites • September 2018-Years 8 to 10 and Year 14-Cooper Crescent Site and Years 11, 12 and 13 – Lough Shore Site • Plan for September 2019- Year 8 on Cooper Crescent Site • Autumn 2018-tests will be hosted on both sites

  6. • Common Entrance test for AQE • This test is based on the English and Mathematics aspects of the Northern Ireland primary school curriculum • There is no Science component

  7. • AQE tests-team of revisers who are experienced teaching professionals at primary level • International standards of validity • Sample paper and past papers are available from www.aqe.org.uk

  8. • Common Entrance Assessment • Three one hour papers • Saturday 10 November 2018 • Saturday 24 November 2018 • Saturday 1 December 2018

  9. • Best scores from two papers will count • Pupils can choose to sit only two papers if so desired • Pupils will sit the tests in an AQE school such as Enniskillen Royal Grammar School

  10. • Cost £50 – administrative costs for AQE • No charge for pupils on Free School Meals

  11. • Action Timeline • 2 May 2018-Registration for the tests opened • Forms available tonight, from school, AQE office and primary schools • Help available completing form if required • Return to AQE by Friday 7 September 2018

  12. • Registration form • Section A- your child’s name and address and primary school details • Copy of birth certificate • Section B-Access arrangements required? • Examples may include dyslexia, visual impairment, medical condition, physical disability, first language other than English or Irish

  13. • Registration form • If Access arrangements are required tick Box B • Complete form ACC/18 (downloadable from website or available this evening) • Evidence required and panel will decide • Requests will be dealt with centrally by AQE in advance of the tests

  14. • Registration form • Section C – parental details • Section D-preferred location • Section E-Payment • Section F – if you require an Irish Language version of the test • Section G-signature and tick to allow school to receive results • Attach 2 passport photos/payment details/confirmation of FSM

  15. • Action Timeline-Return of form to AQE by 7 September 2018- early return advised • Information sent to parents – Assessment Centre and Assessment Number • Orientation morning in October-details to follow

  16. • Orientation morning • Opportunity for your son/daughter to familiarise themselves with the test environment • Rooms • Groupings by primary school and area • Experienced invigilators • Information for parents also

  17. • Special Circumstances • Applications made subsequent to the tests relating to special circumstances such as illness, bereavement • Attach Special Circumstances form to the Transfer Form

  18. • AQE results • Results reported as scores not grades • No comparison with previous transfer test grades • Mean score of 100-very creditable score

  19. • Action Timeline • Robust marking system • Results will be sent as age adjusted scores to parents and schools on Saturday 26 January 2019 • Parents may request remarks
