• In addition to English, maths and science, students study IT, art, music,

technology, history, geography, and a foreign language until the end of Year 9. Our school day includes a period 6

• Period 6 gives students the opportunity to try new things, challenge ourselves

and have fun.

• It allows us to build in extra time for the arts.
• It provides time for academic support through prep lessons.

• An iChoose Gold is awarded in every lesson to a

Simple Behaviour System

• Our simple and effective behaviour system quickly

addresses any disruption in lessons.

– Verbal warning = -10 iChoose points. – Yellow card = -15 iChoose points + 30 min detention. – Red card = -20 iChoose points + day in isolation.

• Conduct cards

– Conduct cards promote positive behaviour around the academy. – Each card has space for:

• 5 positive comments = +25 iChoose and positive text home.
• 5 negative comments = -25 iChoose and 30 min detention

– Whichever gets filled first determines the outcome.

• Restorative Juctice is a key underpinning element

• Restorative justice support this through:

– Clear accountability for actions. – Student and teacher have space to reflect on the incident. – Restores the relationship before returning to lessons. – Positive planning to prevent it happening again.
