Shadow Day Experiences
Prospective students have the opportunity to spend part of a school day shadowing an Islands High School student to experience what it is like to be a student in one of the choice programs. Shadow days must be arranged in advance and due to limited spaces, students must choose one of the programs to visit. Visiting students should:
Arrive between 7:20-7:30am and come to the main office with their parents to
be signed in and receive a visitor’s sticker. If you do not know a student in your chosen program, you will be assigned with an awesome student that is ready to have a shadow for the day. If you did request to shadow a specific 9th grade student, every effort will be made to have you spend the day with them if possible—depending on their schedule and space availability.
Wear their school uniform. If the student does not attend a school that requires a
uniform, they should wear khaki or black pants with a solid white or a solid black shirt.
Bring a lunch and basic school supplies such as paper, pencil and/or pen. Make arrangements to be picked up in the main office between 1:00-1:15pm.
Parent or other designated adult must come in to the office to sign the student

Signing Up for Shadow Day
After the classroom visits, return to the Performance Hall to request a shadow date. Due to class sizes and other factors, shadow days are limited to the choice provided. Each student may request one shadow day appointment. If a student is interested in both programs, we will set up a split day on the day that they visit Islands High School. Due to limited availability we are unable to schedule “make-up days”
