We work very hard to provide meaningful schedules to our student body. Without this process being valuable to you, we cannot create schedules that meet student requests and needs.

Honors Diploma
If you have a goal of earning an Honors Diploma* upon graduation, please use this slide to help you determine which courses are important for you!
*Students do receive distinction in the Graduation program and receive a seal on their diploma.
Honors Diploma Criteria
The student who completes the college preparatory curriculum in high school must meet any seven of the following eight criteria:
- 1. Earn 4 units of English
- 2. Earn at least 4 units of Math that include algebra I, algebra II, and geometry,
and an additional course that will sequence.
- 3. Earn at least 4 units including 2 units of advanced Science courses.
- 4. Earn 4 units of social studies.
- 5. Earn either 3 units of one foreign language or two units each of two foreign
languages.
- 6. Earn 1 unit of fine arts.
- 7. Maintain an overall high school grade point average of least 3.5 on a 4.0
scale up to the last grading period of the senior year; or
- 8. Obtain a composite score of 27 on the ACT (excluding the optional writing
test) or a combined score of 1280 on the SAT verbal and mathematics section (excluding the optional writing section).
Some additional Honors Diploma Options have recently been defined by the state. Please see pages 8-9 in the Program of studies for further information on the Career Teach, STEM, Arts, and Social Science & Civic Engagement Honors Diplomas.
Honors/AP Courses
If you intend to sign-up for an Honors or AP course, please remember…
- To consult with your current teachers about these courses being a good fit for you.
- Remember these courses have a heightened rigor and move at a faster pace.
- ALL incoming Freshmen will sign up for regular classes at this time.
- Teachers from the high school will come to each middle school to talk with classes.
- You will complete a form, including a parent/guardian signature, and turn it in to your
current teacher. We will then register you for that Honors course.
College Credit Plus
This program permits students to expand educational opportunities and earn high school credit and transcripted college credit (dual credit), which transfers to all public colleges and universities in the state of Ohio, through successful completion of college courses.
Students admitted to the program will be required to perform at the same level as the college’s regular students.
Students and families interested in this program should plan to attend the CCP meeting on February, 5th at 6:00 p.m. at Ohio Dominican University.

PE Exemptions
PE Exemptions can be earned for two seasons of a completed school-sponsored sport! Students who want to waive the Physical Education graduation requirement based on athletic participation, need to ensure that the proper paperwork has been completed and submitted. If you should have questions about this, please see your school counselor.

All students will enter their course requests through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Registration will open February 4th. In order to do this effectively, please use the following slides to assist you.
