EYFS

 Very similar to nursery regarding observations, small group work and individual reading.  Throughout the year meetings will take place based on phonics, reading and assessment.  Constant communication with parents.  Two parents evenings throughout the year (Autumn and Spring), reports at the very end of the year.

SCHOOL ROUTINE

 Door opens at 8.45am  School bells ring at 8.55am Snack time  9.00am -9.20am phonics  9.20am whole class input  9.40am -12.00am continuous provision and group work  12.00 -1.00pm lunch  1.00pm-2.00pm continuous provision and group work  2.20pm-2.40 pm – guided reading and mental maths  3.20pm home time

SCHOOL ROUTINES

 School opens at 8.45a.m and lessons start at 8.55.a.m  When dropping your child off in a morning please bring your child to the back door

  • f the classroom through the play area where you will be met by a Reception

member of staff.  School finishes at 3.20pm and children can be collected from the Reception Play

  • area. If your child has to be collected by someone unknown to the school (i.e. not

the regular person) please inform both the office and the teacher. We do not allow children to be collected by undesignated persons unless informed of any changes.  Late collections – this is sometimes unavoidable, in such circumstances you must inform the office.

BREAKFAST CLUB

 Ran by familiar school staff  Opens at 7.45am  Takes place in the hall  Price £2.60  Options to eat are cereal, toast with preserves, bagel, pancakes, fruit and fruit juice or milk to drink.  Activities and games.

 Ran by Ms Baron  Either in the hall or a class room  3.20pm – 5.30pm  Price £7.50 per session  Fun games, activities, drinks and healthy snacks.  Need to know in advance whether you child is to attend

HELPFUL THINGS TO DO BEFORE YOUR CHILD STARTS SCHOOL

 Accustom your child to use / hold a pencil correctly  Accustom your child to use scissors  Get your child to practise writing/ recognising their own name  Your child will be taught to read by the new phonics system, teaching your child the a, b, c method could confuse them, if you require further information regarding the method in use please ask the class teacher.

PRE SCHOOL VISIT MONDAY 8TH JULY

 Either:  Morning 9.15-11.15 (Snack, drink and coat needed)  Afternoon 1.15 – 3.00 (Snack, drink and coat needed)  All day 9.15-3.00 (Packed lunch, snack, drink and coat needed)  Meet their class teacher and familiarise themselves with school and the routines.
