Lift High the Cross

SLIDE 7

Refrain:

Lift high the cross, the love of Christ proclaim; Let all adore and praise that sacred name.

slide-8
SLIDE 8

Come, Christians, follow where our Savior trod, the Lamb victorious, Christ the Child of God. Lift high the cross, the love of Christ proclaim; Let all adore and praise that sacred name.

SLIDE 10

O Christ, once lifted

  • n the glorious tree,

your death has brought us life eternally. Lift high the cross, the love of Christ proclaim; Let all adore and praise that sacred name

slide-11

Set up your throne, that earth's despair may cease, beneath the shadow

Lift high the cross, the love of Christ proclaim; Let all adore and praise that sacred name.

So shall our song of triumph ever be: praise to the Crucified for victory. Lift high the cross, the love of Christ proclaim; Let all adore and praise that sacred name.

Unison Prayer

SLIDE 15

We see you, God, in the Light. We see your Glittering Presence, even when light appears to be absent. There is no darkness into which your light does not shine; sometimes all it takes is for us to bring it to where it needs to go. Once we do so – the darkness disperses. Others do not always see the light at first. Let that never make us think that the light is gone.

When our light finds the light in others, which it always does, in that moment, transfigurations

to share it with others—as you have long called us to do. We trust in you to do the rest.

Give me a clean heart so I may serve you. God, fix my heart so that I may be used by you. For I'm not worthy of all these blessings. Give me a clean heart and I'll follow you.

Closing Hymn

NCH 190 Beneath the Cross of Jesus

slide-49
SLIDE 49

Beneath the cross of Jesus I gladly take my stand, the shadow of a mighty rock within a weary land; A home within the wilderness, a rest upon the way, from the burning of the noontide heat, and the burden of the day.

slide-50
SLIDE 50

Upon that cross of Jesus within my mind I see the very dying form of One who suffered there for me; And from my grieving heart with tears two wonders I confess – the wonders of Christ's glorious love and my unworthiness.

slide-51
SLIDE 51

I take, O cross, your shadow for my abiding place; I ask no other sunshine than the sunshine of Christ's face; Content to let the world go by, to know no gain or loss, my sinful self my only shame, my glory all the cross.
