FRESHMAN ADVANCED/ACCELERATED PLACEMENT
ENGLISH 9 - All freshmen should register for English 9.
Accelerated Placement in Honors English 9
- The following are recommended guidelines:
- Top 15% on 8th grade reading Spring MAP test
- Top 15% on 8th grade language usage Spring MAP test
- Teacher recommendation
- Written assessment by invitation (to students meeting the above
stated MAP criteria) which scores as Advanced on the KHS rubric.
FRESHMAN ADVANCED/ACCELERATED PLACEMENT(Cont.) Accelerated Placement in French II or Spanish II
- Placement testing will occur within classroom with current
instructor at the end of April. Students in French 8 or Spanish 8 will be evaluated for placement based on meeting the following criteria:
- District assessment score of 80% or higher
- Grade in class - B or higher
If a student successfully completes French 1 or Spanish 1, the student may select French 2 or Spanish 2

- Literacy Labs -- Literacy Lab is a support class offered to 9th and
10th grade students to remediate reading skills.
- Skills for Success--The primary areas of focus in Skills for Success
is to assist with monitoring grades and organizational skills

Scheduling Instructions-
- Click on your Post Grad Plan and then Next
Click on the box that you want to select a class. Select the class you would like. PLease make sure that you have met the prerequisites for the class.
ADVISORY
Enter your Advisory into the 4 year plan before you start putting your classes in. You will select your Advisory under NON CREDIT at the bottom. current 9th grade - select course # 2000 current 10th grade - select course # 3000 current 11th grade - select course # 4000
- SAVE - make sure you click the SAVE
button at the top
Course Request or Withdrawal Procedure
- Day 1-3 of Trimester
- Course changes will be considered
- Approval of Parent, Teacher, and Counselor required if dropping a class
- May add a class
- Day 4-12 of Trimester
- Drops with no penalty (WNP) will be granted when student submits
necessary paperwork
- No classes can be added (Option to add Study Hall if no Study Hall is already
assigned)
- Day 13-End of Trimester
- Drops with penalty (WF) when paperwork is submitted and approved
- No classes will be added (Study Hall will be added if Study Hall is not already
assigned)
- Classes cannot be dropped when students already have a Study Hall
GET INVOLVED IN HIGH SCHOOL
- We offer numerous activities, clubs and sports at
Kaukauna High School
- Sign up for many clubs/activities/sports will occur at the
end of this school year and/or at the beginning of next year
- Watch the school district website for tryouts and updates
– click on co-curricular tab
- All advisors and coaches contact information is listed on
that website, click on activities or athletics on the side
Programming Timeline
- JANUARY 14 - High School Counselors present information to the 8th
grade students.
- JANUARY 24 - HS Counselors meet with St Ignatius students
- JANUARY 15 - JANUARY 29 - Infinite Campus will be open to enter
course requests.
- JANUARY 30 - Course request window closes
- JANUARY 30 and 31 - Counselors review requests with RVMS 8th grade
students
- FEBRUARY 5 - HS Counselor meets with Holy Spirit Student
- EARLY AUGUST - Schedules will come out on Infinite Campus
