SACSCOC REAFFIRMATION

  • Compliance Certification Due: September 9, 2019

  • (Typically the 2nd week)
  • QEP and Focused Report: Mid-February
  • Onsite Visit: April 6-9, 2020
  • Final Decision on Accreditation: Announced December 8, 2020

WHAT HAPPENS AT THE OFFSITE REVIEW

  • The SACSCOC VP, Steve Sheeley, will work with a group of

volunteer peer reviewers. A chair, who is required to have training on the process, leads the review committee made up of about 8-10 reviewers.

  • Reviewers may:
  • hold positions of president, chief academic officer, chief financial officer
  • come from offices of institutional effectiveness, library, student affairs,

academic support

  • come from the faculty
  • Committees typically review 3 institutions over 1-1/2 days.
  • Standards are rated as Compliant, Non-Compliant or Non-Applicable.
  • Those deemed Non-Compliant require follow up in a Focused Report.
  • Note: Standard 13.2 (Finance) is most always rated as non-compliant

since the audit cycles are not complete at most universities.

WHAT HAPPENS AT THE ONSITE REVIEW

SACSCOC requires the onsite team to verify responses to a specific number of standards through interviews and review of documentation.
